St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Planned Relics Visit

“My Divine Heart is so inflamed with love for men, and for you in particular, that being unable any longer to contain within Itself the flames of Its burning Charity, It must needs spread them abroad by thy means…” — Aut.

Who is Margaret Mary Alacoque?

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque was a 17th-century French nun whose profound encounters with Christ revealed the burning love of His Sacred Heart for humanity. Through visions of Jesus, she was entrusted with spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart. Despite misunderstanding and opposition, Margaret Mary remained faithful, offering her suffering in union with Christ and proclaiming that His Heart is an inexhaustible source of mercy. Her witness reminds us that the Sacred Heart invites us to encounter Jesus’ personal, sacrificial, and merciful love. Pope Benedict XV declared her a saint in 1920, and the Church celebrates her feast on October 16.

What are relics and what will I see?

  • Relics are sacred objects with a special connection to saints, serving as tangible reminders of their faith and devotion and inspiring us to grow closer to God.
  • We will be in the presence of first-class relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque:
    • Two clavicles (collarbones)
    • Two ribs
    • A piece of her brain
  • Why these relics? The bones were close to her heart, a heart that radiated love for Christ with mercy. The mind was through which Christ chose to speak His message of merciful love to the whole world. To be near them is to be near a body that was, in a real and particular way, given over entirely to the Heart of Jesus.

Who is the Emmanuel Community?

The Emmanuel Community is a Catholic Lay International Community that brings together faithful that share a common call to strive for holiness and commit themselves to actively live their faith in their daily lives through adoration, compassion and evangelization; thus, fulfilling their call as the first believers did who had “only one heart and one soul!” (Acts 4:32). They are men and women of all walks of life: from ordinary, professional and social backgrounds, of different classes, ages, and nationalities. In sharing this common call of “one heart and soul”, the members, no matter their vocation, form a strong bond and unity that is lived and witnessed to others in the joy and compassion of living a life centered on Jesus Christ in everything they do. They are the main people in charge of the relics tour and graciously inviting us in this period of prayer.

All plans are subject to change.
