Men of our parish, welcome! We are not meant to walk this road alone. As Christian men, we are pilgrims—called to journey together in faith, to learn, to grow, and to be transformed. That is the heart of our new men’s ministry: The Society of St. Timothy.

Nearly every week, our clergy hear from a downtrodden parent: “Father, my child no longer practices the faith.” Why have so many children in younger generations drifted far from faith? While admittedly a complex combination of factors has contributed to a loss of faith among younger generations, myriad studies have consistently indicated one key that helps to mitigate this loss: when a father boldly lives out his Catholic faith, 3 out of every 4 children will continue practicing the faith after leaving home. This fall, our parish will offer an opportunity (complementing our existing men’s ministries) for men of all ages to grow in faith and fellowship: the Society of St. Timothy will foster a community of men seeking to encourage one another to strive for greater holiness in their communities (and especially among their families). The Society will meet on Tuesday mornings from 6:00 – 7:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall and follow Paradisus Dei’s That Man Is You program.

We need friends, we need to gather together, to forge brotherhood, to pray for one another and to encourage each other to live our faith with courage. We need to evangelize by living lives that radiate Christ’s love. If we do this—truly commit—our lives will change. Our faith will deepen. Our love for God, our families, and one another will grow.

Come, and be reminded: you were made to stand, not to sleep.
