Biblical Roots of the Eucharist – Lenten Mission

March 31st, April 1st & April 2nd at 7:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

During this time, the Church has called for a revival of our love and understanding of the Eucharist, which is central to our Catholic faith. In keeping with this call, the three-night Lenten Mission will focus on:

1. The Old Testament roots of the Eucharist

2. The importance of our Blessed Mother’s role

3. The New Testament roots of Jesus Christ’s presence in the Eucharist

The mission will invite us to use this Lenten season to renew our spiritual heritage and deepen our biblical

understanding of the Eucharist, with the hope of fostering a greater love for Christ’s presence in the Eucharist.

Our presenter is Msgr. Stephen C. Bosso, S.S.L., D. Min. Msgr. Bosso was born in Pensacola, Florida. He received a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy and a Master of Divinity degree from the Pontifical College Josephinum in

Worthington, Ohio. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, Florida, in 1978. He served as the Catholic Campus Minister at the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Tallahassee for Florida State University.

He attended the Pontifical Biblical University in Rome, Italy, and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, receiving a Licentiate of Sacred Scripture in 1985. Since then, he has served at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, teaching Sacred Scripture, Classical Hebrew and Greek, and Homiletics, with the exception of his tenure as Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton, Florida, from 2011–2013.

Msgr. Bosso has served in various capacities at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, including as Rector/President from 2000–2005. In 2018, he earned a Doctorate in Preaching from Aquinas Institute in St. Louis, Missouri. He has ministered in numerous Catholic parishes across South Florida and served for six years on the Board of

Commissioners for the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.

More recently, he received the Marten Fellowship in Homiletics from the University of Notre Dame for the Fall semester of 2021. He retired from St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in June 2022 and now assists at parishes throughout the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, offering retreats, talks, and missions during Advent and Lent.

We hope to see you at our 2025 Lenten Mission!
